Vidi (“we”, “our”, “us”) takes data security of its users (“you”, “your”) and personal details very seriously. That is why we are completely committed to offering a secure and confidential system for storing your data and want you to feel safe when you consent to the processing of your Personal Data.
This privacy policy (“Policy”) sets out the basis upon which we collect and process your Personal Data as a user on our mobile application (the “App”) and our website (the “Site”); before, during, and after the sign-up process. This Policy applies to the processing of Personal Data of customers who have signed-up for the App or on the Site and who make use of the related features.
Who is responsible for the processing of your Personal Data?
VIDI Digital Solutions for Services, a Qatari company organised and existing under the laws of the State of Qatar with its registered office at Building 63, Street 310 (Airport Street), Zone 27, Umm Ghuwailina, Doha Municipality, Doha, Qatar (“Vidi”) acts as data controller only for the processing operations carried out within the App or Site as described.
The data controller is the company that determines how and for what purpose your Personal Data will be used.
Types of Personal Data we collect about you
Data we collect includes both Data you knowingly and actively provide us when signing up and any Data automatically sent by your devices in the course of accessing our website.
We only collect and use your Personal Data when we have a legitimate reason for doing so. In which instance, we only collect Personal Data that is reasonably necessary to execute our contract.
We may collect the following types of Personal Data when you sign-up on the App or Site, or interact with the App or Site.
Personal Identification Data: First Name, Last Name, Email, Nationality, Mobile Number, Username, Password.
Technical Data: Device and internet connection Data, including IP address, usage data , browser type, device type, app version, crash logs, POI search queries, implicit interaction signals, device language; which may be collected through cookies and other tracking technologies.
Voluntarily Provided Data: Such as profile image, location, interests, life stage, exploration style, gender, social mode, local status, time preference, sharing style, place lists created, Google Analytics 4 events.
Cookies and Similar Technologies: We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience and gather additional Data about your interactions with our features.
How we collect and receive your Personal Data
We may collect and receive Personal Data directly from you when you sign yourself up and consent to the processing of your Personal Data for the purpose of using the App or the Site. Some Personal Data will also be collected during the navigation of the App or Site.
When we require you to provide Personal Data, we clearly mark these fields as mandatory.
If you do not supply the required Data, we will be unable to offer the related feature. However, if we request additional Personal Data on a voluntary basis, you are free to decide whether to provide it or not. Choosing not to provide this additional Data will not affect the other features.

We process your Personal Data, to the extent permitted by applicable law, for the following purposes:

Our App/Site’s security: We gather certain navigation data in order to ensure the security of our services and to detect, prevent, or trace any attempt at surveillance or computer intrusion, as well as any violation of the terms and conditions of our services.
User Data, as well as App/Site’s statistics and performance: We can use data to better understand our applicants or for statistical purposes in order to analyze our App/Site and improve the services we provide. We analyze user journeys and conduct measurements to target audiences, such as counting the number of pages viewed, the number of visits, and the activity of visitors, as well as their frequency of return.
What legal basis do you use to process my Personal Data and how long is it retained?
The contract: the processing of Personal Data is required for the performance of the contract to which you have agreed.

By signing-up or browsing the App’Site, you consent to the collection, use, and sharing of your Personal Data as described in this Policy. The legitimate interest: Where Vidi relies on legitimate interests as a basis for processing Personal Data, we have considered the interests, rights and freedoms of the corresponding individuals (“Data Subjects”) and carry out a ‘balancing test’ to ensure that our processing is necessary and that our legitimate interests are not overridden by the interests, rights and freedoms of the Data Subjects in question. The law: A legislation has made the processing of your Personal Data mandatory, No. 13 of 2016 on Personal Data Privacy Protection in Qatar.
We will only keep your Personal Data for as long as it is required to accomplish the reasons for which it was acquired, including complying with any legal, accounting, or reporting obligations.
We consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the Personal Data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of your Personal Data, the purposes for which we process your Personal Data, and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, as well as the applicable legal requirements when determining the appropriate retention period for Personal Data.
Data sharing and disclosure, who will receive my Personal Data?
We do not sell, trade, or rent your Personal Data to third parties. However, sharing and disclosure of your Personal Data may happen in the following circumstances:
Internally Shared: Your Personal Data will be shared internally within our company to offer our services. It will only be accessible to employees who need it to perform their duties. All staff involved in handling your Data are required to keep it confidential.
Service Providers: We may be required to disclose certain of your Personal Data in the following cases:
to third parties including service providers to provide a service to, or perform a function for us or who are otherwise appointed by us in connection with the services we offer you including those who are acting as our agent, including, without limitation support service providers, technology providers, specialised consultants, legal advisers, auditors;
to third parties, including law enforcement officials, courts and government and regulatory authorities: (a) if we believe disclosure is required by any applicable law, regulation or legal process (such as to respond to subpoenas or judicial orders); or (b) to protect and defend our rights, or the rights or safety of third parties, including to defend against legal claims; and
When Personal Data are disclosed to third parties, we will take the required contractual, technical and organisational measures to duly protect such Personal Data in accordance with applicable legislation.
We ensure that appropriate Data Processing Agreements or Standard Contractual Clauses are fully executed before any data sharing begins.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose your Data to courts, tribunals, regulatory authorities, and law enforcement officers, as required by law in connection with any actual or prospective legal process in order to establish and defend our legal rights, or in response to a request from law enforcement or government authorities.
Business Purposes: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of our assets, your Personal Data may be transferred to the new owner as part of the transaction.
International Data sharing: post-migration, all primary application data (database, search index, backups, application logs) for users will be processed in Google Cloud’s London region (europe-west2).
We host and store your account data, profile details, user content, and search history in the United Kingdom (UK). This cross-border transfer is strictly necessary to deliver our services.
You must consent to this transfer before creating an account. If you choose to refuse, we cannot complete your registration. You may withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing consent will automatically initiate a formal process to securely export and permanently delete your data.
We ensure that all international recipients maintain an adequate level of data protection equivalent to Qatar's PDPPL requirements through binding data processing agreements.
Vidi shall not be liable for any processing undertaken by third parties who receive Personal Data as a result of legal obligations, mandatory disclosures.
How do we keep your Personal Data safe?
Vidi has implemented measures to safeguard Personal Data, as we are committed to ensuring that Personal Data are secure, however, no system can guarantee absolute security.
In an effort to prevent unauthorised access to, or disclosure of, Personal Data, we have put in place physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect Personal Data against accidental or unlawful destruction or accidental loss, damage, alteration, unauthorised disclosure or access, as well as all other forms of unlawful processing.
Although we use reasonable and appropriate efforts to protect Personal Data, we cannot guarantee the security of Personal Data transmitted via the internet or similar connection. Transmission is therefore at your own risk.
Vidi shall not be responsible for security incidents occurring within systems that are owned, operated or controlled by any third-party providers acting as data controllers.
Your Rights
You always retain the right to withhold Personal Data from us, we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your rights over your Personal Data. If you do provide us with Personal Data, you understand that we will collect, hold, use and disclose it in accordance with this Policy.
If we receive Personal Data about you from a third party, we will protect it as set out in this Policy.
You have the following rights regarding your Personal Data, to the extent permitted by law:
Withdrawal of consent: You have the right to withdraw consent where you have previously given your consent to the processing of your personal Data, unless it is legally required for us to keep the Data.
Access: You can request access to the personal Data we hold about you. This allows you to obtain a copy of the personal data we hold on you and verify that we are processing it lawfully.
Correction: You can request correction of any inaccurate or incomplete Data. This allows you to have any incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or misleading data we store about you, as well as data whose processing does not correspond to be fixed, updated, or deleted, although we may need to verify the correctness of the new data you submit.
Data Portability: You may request to receive your personal Data provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and the right to transmit that data to another person.
Objection: If we process your Personal Data based on our legitimate interests, you have the right to object to the relevant processing activity. If you object to the use of your Personal Data as described in this Privacy Policy, your Data will be removed, and you will no longer be part of our App or Site. This has no bearing on the legality of any processing we have already conducted based on prior consent or to comply with applicable law.
